Texas Modern K9s is Veteran Owned and Operated. We have over 15 years of experience training and handling a variety of dogs. We offer exceptional dog training and quality customer service to all of our valuable customers throughout Waller County, Harris County and the surrounding areas. Our goal is to build a strong and respectful relationship between you and your dog using clear communication and ensuring that your dog is comfortable and safe while in our care. We pride ourselves on being balanced trainers, continually learning new training methods.
Here we specialize and focus on in home training whether it's private lessons or a board and train program at our personal home. This is not a facility with dog runs, the dogs live and stay with us at our property on 2 acres. The dogs have their own building with crates they stay in at night and for meals. The building is 100% climate controlled and remotely monitored. We believe that this is the most comfortable, realistic and safest environment for dogs to learn in. Everyday the dogs get realistic training scenarios while incorporating the same rules that the dog(s) have at the owner's home. We understand that not all dogs are the same. So we vary our approach and training based on what will work best for each dog. Dogs with us aren't just in training during scheduled training sessions. Their brains and bodies are engaged and learning every single time we interact with them throughout the day or night.
For dogs who like to get their feet wet, we also have a large pond in the front of our property that provides a great opportunity to do JUST that!

"Ellie Mae was difficult to say the least but what modern k9's did in three weeks was life changing for us. Ellie has manners, listens to commands, and is a better version of herself. Thank you to the moon and back. your talents and passion show in the clients you train." -- Melanie Kasper April 17th, 2018.
Tyler was born and raised in Southern California. After graduating high school, she made the decision to enlist in the US Army as a Military Police Officer. She served two tours, one in Iraq and the other in Afghanistan. She reenlisted to be a military working dog handler. She worked as a narcotics police dog handler for Fort Riley, however after suffering a hand injury, she was honorably discharged. Once out and still having such a passion for working with dogs, she made the choice to attend college and get her Associate of Science in Veterinary Technology. She felt this specialized training would give her not only a better understanding of the dogs but help her provide the best care possible. After completing her AS, she attended Starmark Academy for Dog Trainers to expand her knowledge in the field of Canine Training and Behavior Specialist.
